Grace Leal was born and raised in Houston, Texas and has been in education for 30 years. Mrs. Leal has served as a bilingual teacher, instructional specialist, LPAC coordinator, Assistant Principal and currently serves as the Principal of Lewis Elementary.

Mrs. Leal started her career at Aldine ISD as a bilingual teacher and then was promoted to an instructional specialist. Then, she came to Spring ISD at Hirsh Elementary where she taught 5th grade and was the LPAC coordinator. In 2010, Mrs. Leal was promoted to Assistant Principal at Reynolds Elementary and then became the Principal at Lewis Elementary in 2014.

Mrs. Leal received her bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis on Bilingual Education from Sam Houston University. Mrs. Leal also earned a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from the same university. 

In her free time, Mrs. Leal enjoys fishing, watching the Astros, and spending quality time with her family, grandson, and friends. Mrs. Leal looks forward to be working with the Lewis Longhorn family and feels grateful to collaborate with such incredible people to help every child be successful at Lewis Elementary.

Mr. Garcia was born in Houston, Texas and has been in education for 17 years. Mr. Garcia has served as a bilingual teacher, team leader, data steward, Instructional Math Coach, and Student Support Specialist and currently serves as Assistant Principal of the Mighty Longhorns at Lewis Elementary.

Mr. Garcia received his bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in Bilingual Education from the University of Houston, and a Master's degree in Public School Counseling and Educational Leadership from Lamar University.

In his free time, Mr. Garcia enjoys reading, traveling, hiking, and keeping up with the new technological trends.  Mr. Garcia is excited to continue serving the students, families and staff of Lewis and looks forward to the new school year.
